FAQs

Can I use this sprayer with your telescopic lances?

Yes. This sprayer can be used with either our 3.2 metre or 5.4 metre telescopic lances, as well as other lance extensions within our range. All of these can be found in the accessories section above which will include all connectors if required.

Is there a benefit to having this type of hose?

The Profi Plus sprayer has a recoil hose which is unusual for sprayers, the vast majority of which have a standard hose configuration. The benefit of a recoil hose is that you can have a much longer length of hose which only takes up a small amount of space and it is easy to keep tidy. This sprayer has 2.5 metres of hose which is double the length of many of the sprayers within our range. This is a huge benefit, compared to other sprayers, as it gives you flexibility when spraying.

Why are these sprayers more expensive than others you offer?

Build quality, replacement parts, accessories and the type of seals that are used. All of the sprayers within our range are very good, quality sprayers and will, if looked after, last you many years however you pay for what you get. The reason why the Profli and Profli Plus sprayers are more expensive than others we offer is the overall strength and robustness of the tank, high quality seals, 2.5 metre recoil hose and general build quality. The Profi Plus has FPM seals which are resistant to not only pH neutral products but also acidic solutions. These sprayers are not designed to be used a few times, thrown away and a replacement bought. They are designed to last you many years and have parts replaced when they wear or are broken. Also, with the range of accessories we have, one sprayer is able to handle many different type of job.

What is Tank Ullage?

Ullage is the name given to the difference between the maximum liquid fill level and the tank capacity therefore the empty space. This is very important as this space decides how much air you can compress into the tank therefore the length of spraying time available before having to re-compress the tank. The more ullage then the longer you can spray.

Can I use this sprayer to spray my roof with a moss killer?

Many of our customers use this sprayer with either the 5.4 metre or 3.2 metre telescopic lances for this very application. The long lances allow for easier access to the surface of a roof as well as other areas that are awkward or possibly dangerous to reach. If you are looking for a product to clean your roof and other hard surfaces then our Baticlean CR is a biocide that can be used on all hard surfaces and does not require rinsing. It is pH neutral so can be used with any of the sprayers in the Profi Plus range.

Do you have any electric sprayers?

We understand that people are becoming attracted to electric (or battery powered) sprayers. They do have one big advantage and that is a constant supply of pressurised air, within the tank, therefore no requirement to pump the sprayer. Over the past 5 years, the technology has vastly improved and we now consider battery powered sprayers to be a viable option both with their performance and reliability. It is for this reason that we now have a range of electric sprayers to which we will be adding additional sprayers at the start of 2025 with new knapsack and compression sprayers. We will also be able to offer an electric conversion kit which will enable you to use your sprayer as either electric or standard manual.

Our Review

Our Mesto Profi Plus 3270P has a 10-litre working capacity yellow, polyethylene tank with a 3 BAR maximum spraying pressure and a maximum flow rate, with the standard supplied nozzle, of 1-litre per minute.

The Mesto sprayer is packaged in a brightly coloured box with plenty of good quality, informative photos and basic information and is of a construction that felt strong enough to both hold and give some decent protection to the sprayer.

Upon opening the box the first thing I looked for was an instruction manual and, once I got my hands on it, quite some instruction manual it is. In keeping with some of the other sprayers within the Mesto range, there are over 125 pages of instructions. Only 8 of them are in English but it is nice to get an instruction manual and this one tells you everything that you need to know from a welcome message and safety notices through technical information, assembly instructions, care & maintenance information and a faults guide. Having had a quick read, I decided it was time to have a look at the sprayer itself. Everything was nicely packed around the tank so to remove the sprayer from the box only required a gently pull and wiggle on the handle and the tank lifted easily from the box. My first impression of the sprayer is that it looks like a robust piece of kit with nice bright colours and a big pump handle. I like the brass lance and nozzle and the coiled 2.5-meter hose. The coiled hose reduces the hose length to around 30cm so this is a nice space saving idea which also means that you are not going to get caught up in a long hose.

After skimming through the instruction manual, the assembly didn’t look too difficult. There are only four parts to attach to the tank the shoulder strap, coiled hose, lance handle and lance. The shoulder strap is fed through the two slots in the rear of the top section with the black, plastic buckle used to hold the ends and adjust the strap length. TIP: feed the strap through the top of the first slot then up through the second slot. This way you don’t have to remove the buckle from the strap. The lance is easily threaded onto the lance handle and the hose connects to the handle and base of tank. TIP: I found the hose quite hard to push onto the lance handle so I dipped the end of the hose into hot water for a few moments and this softened it enough to make it easy to attach.

The assembly only took a few minutes and wasn’t at all difficult. Remember that there are plenty of diagrams and instructions to help you so if something doesn’t make sense then go back to the instruction manual.

I was now ready to start spraying so I placed the tank on the floor and turned the tank compression handle anticlockwise and after a few turns pulled the central compression housing from the tank which allowed me to start filling. The design incorporates a nice wide filling neck so spillages should be easy to keep to a minimum. I managed to fill the tank with no issues, replaced the compression housing and gently tightened it. I only needed to pump the tank handle a few times to bring it to full pressure and spraying was just as I would expect; a nice spray pattern was easily maintained. To release the pressure within the tank simply pull the small, red pressure release valve.

In my opinion, this is a very well built sprayer and is very good at doing its job which, not surprisingly, is spraying. But there is something that can make spraying a pleasant task or an absolute pain. Most sprayers are supplied with a piece of hose which is looked upon as nothing more than something that is needed to carry liquid. Believe me, the hose is a vital part of the sprayer and the Profi Plus is supplied with an excellent hose and you have the option of an additional hose as well.

The sprayer is supplied with a 2.5-metre recoil hose. This length means that your spraying is not restricted when carrying the tank and you can place the tank on the floor and spray so you don't always have to carry the tank. But if this isn't enough, you can also have an additional 5-metre hose meaning that you can walk away from the tank or that you can climb a ladder without having to carry the tank.

Draining of the tank was easy as the hose it attached at the base so, if you wish, you can simply unscrew the hose and the tank will fully drain.
