FAQs

How do I know which repair kit I need?

If you aren't sure which of the kits is designed for your sprayer then please just get in touch with us and we will point you in the right direction.

What is a piston ring?

The piston ring sits inside the compression shaft and is attached to the end of the compression rod (opposite end to the pump handle). This moves up and down inside the shaft as you pump the handle to increase or provide pressure. It therefore moves a lot and must create a complete seal within the shaft otherwise there will be a leak of air and you will find it hard to build or maintain pressure. As it moves so much it can slowly wear so may need to be replaced.

Why would ball bearings need to be changed?

It is unlikely that you will ever need to replace the bearings within your backpack sprayer but it is possible that the bearings could be damaged if the sprayer isn't looked after and is heavily used. It is important to keep the sprayer clean, allow it to dry after use, replace any damaged or worn seals, and apply grease to the moving parts. If you keep these points in mind then your sprayer will last for many years.
