IK Backpack Sprayer - 12 Litre

Our backpack sprayers are designed for maximum strength, ease of use, comfort and flexibility. This IK Multi sprayer has a high strength polypropylene tank providing excellent chemical resistance, so that most types of chemical products can be used within a single sprayer.

This knapsack sprayer has a 12 litre capacity and is both easy to assemble and comfortable to wear. The pump handle can be mounted on either side of the tank allowing for ease of use by either left or right-handed operators. It has a moulded carry handle and adjustable, anti corrosive non-slip straps as well as a mechanical agitator within the tank. This ensures that the contents are always mixed so that no separation can take place during the spraying process. The spray lance is made from fibreglass so is both strong and light and we only use Viton seals which are both chemical resistant and long lasting. This knapsack sprayer is also supplied with a metal spray lever (as opposed to plastic that are generally supplied with this type of unit) providing greater strength. All plastic parts and washers are resistant to most acids and solvents, as well as chemical agents widely used in the world of industry, automotive and professional cleaning.

This sprayer arrives assembled apart from the lance and nozzle which will only take a couple of moments to attach. The shoulder straps are connected however some of our customers contact us as they are confused as the ends of the straps are different as only one strap has a hook on its end. This is correct and there is not a hook missing from the second strap. Assembly instructions are given in the manual however we have given very straight forward instructions in the FAQ section.

Safety Tips

• Always follow the operating instructions & dosage instructions on the packaging labels that the manufacturer recommends for both the sprayer and any chemical product that you are using.
• Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst operating this sprayer with chemical products.
• Do not use this sprayer to spray chemical products on people, animals, electrical installations, flames, open fire, or other sources of ignition UNLESS the chemicals being used are intended for such purposes.
• In the event of chemical poisoning, you should consult your doctor or go directly to a medical facility/hospital, taking the chemical product packaging with you.
• Never dispose of waste product or cleaning residues near water courses. You should follow all manufacturers instructions for product disposal.
• If mixing/diluting a product prior to spraying then only make the amount to need to complete the spraying task.
• Use suitable protective equipment (PPE), masks, goggles, gloves, footwear, etc.
• Read the instructions for the sprayer before you use it. Do not modify the sprayer. Do not obstruct or strike the safety valve. Do not use the sprayer if it is damaged, deformed or altered from its original shape. Should the hose, tank, handle or any of its connections be damaged, do not attempt to repair but replace the items with new parts.
• The composition of the chemicals and substances to be sprayed, along with the conditions of use, such as solar radiation, temperature, pressure, etc., affect the endurance of the tank material. Ageing and storage conditions also directly impact the tank's physical properties; thus, it is impossible to accurately predict a sprayer's service life.
• It is essential to follow the cleaning and maintenance guidelines recommended by the sprayer manufacturer/supplier to ensure that your sprayer continues to work safely and effectively.
• Keep your sprayer out of reach of children.
• Only use this sprayer with substances which are compatible. If you are unsure of the chemical compatibility then consult with the supplier of the sprayer.
• Please use original spare parts and accessories. We shall not be liable for any damage caused by third-party parts.

Can I use this sprayer with the telescopic lances?

Yes. This knapsack sprayer can be connected directly to our long telescopic lances including both the 5.4 metre and 3.2 metre. The only slight issue with the 5.4 metre lance is that the maximum working pressure for this sprayer is 3bar so if using the lance at full extension when vertical the spray pattern will not be very powerful. It will still spray but not with as much power as when the lance is shortened or when the angle of spraying is reduced. If you are looking to use the longest of our telescopic lances and use it to spray vertically and at full extension, then we would recommend our RS12 knapsack sprayer or RS18 knapsack sprayer that have a maximum working pressure of 6bar which is double that of this IK sprayer.

As well as the long telescopic lances, this sprayer can be used with the 1 metre and 1.5 metre aluminium lances. These lance extensions are not telescopic but are very good additions to your arsenal that allow you to reach into areas that the standard lance configuration can't.

What is the difference between 3bar & 6bar working pressure?

The amount of bar basically means the amount of pressure that is pushing the liquid along the hose and lance and out of the nozzle. Generally speaking, the higher the working pressure then the harder the liquid will leave the nozzle.

How do I fit the shoulder straps?

Both of the padded shoulder straps are fitted to the top of the tank so all you have to do is to connect the bottom of each strap. You will notice that one strap has a hook at its end and the other doesn't, this doesn't mean that there is a hook missing. The strap WITHOUT the hook should be passed through the slits at the side of the base. This locks the strap to the base and it doesn't move unless you decide to move it. When you want to wear the tank, you simply pass your arm through this strap, lift the tank onto your back then pass the hooked strap over your other shoulder and hook it to the base of the tank. To remove you just have to unhook this strap and take the tank from your back.
